I had a really hard time finding a decent landscaper in Charlotte. Most wouldn’t even return a call, much less get me on their schedule. I found Powell Concrete Hardscape and Landscaping just by working my way down the list in a Google search. I’m so glad I did. He answered the phone and was out the same day. Not only was he out the same day, he made some great suggestions and emailed me a quote from his truck outside of my house. It was a very good price for what I needed. I accepted the quote, and he and his crew were here working three days later. They worked long days, every day, until the job was done. I talked to the bricklayer, and he has a ton of experience—previous union mason in NYC, I think? Anyway, he did fantastic work. They all did. I can’t say enough about these guys. A couple of times I was following package deliveries for work and saw them meet the driver and walk my package to my front door. Good people. If you’re looking for someone who will work hard for your money and won’t take it for granted, get in touch with these guys. Charlotte needs more businesses like this.
Shawn and his team were very easy to work with. I wanted this work done ASAP, and Shawn was able to fit me in and still provide quality work. The price was very reasonable, especially when you consider that the prep work took longer than expected because of some old tree roots left over from the construction. I had my driveway expanded to 10’ x 31’ and I am very pleased with the end product. I highly recommend Powell Concrete Hardscape and Landscaping for this type of work. My neighbors have made many comments on the nice job that was done.
Shawn and his crew did a fantastic job with our landscaping project. His bid came in the most competitive, and he went above and beyond to make sure our vision was achieved. He completely gutted our backyard and built an impressive retaining wall to magically create a fully usable backyard. The crew finished it off with mulch, sod, appropriate drainage, and an HOA-friendly aluminum fence. If the weather allowed, someone was here working on the project. They took extra precautions during a very rainy winter to contain all runoff dirt and pressure washed a couple of times to make sure they kept up with any dirt left by machines. We are very happy with the results.

We picked Shawn to build our patio after securing estimates from several other contractors. Shawn was not the least expensive, but he was very reasonable and the easiest to deal with. Not pushy or trying to influence what we wanted to do with the project. He offered suggestions when asked and listened to what we wanted. He was extremely patient as we were somewhat indecisive on a couple of selections. The project took a little longer than expected, but Shawn kept busy and was on the job every day (weather permitting) until it was finished to our satisfaction. He has done several projects in our neighborhood, and we saw his workmanship before we hired him. Other homeowners were equally complimentary of the work Shawn and his crew did for them. Overall, a first-rate experience. We would recommend him to anybody looking for patio/landscape work.
The need existed to put in a nice fireplace/patio in the back yard as well as build a retaining wall around the back of the back yard. The results were incredible! Much time is spent around that fire pit now. The costs were very reasonable, and the materials were first rate. Shawn is a very hard worker who insists on perfection in everything he does, and the results prove that. I highly recommend this company to anyone who has any hardscape needs or wants!

They did a great job adding to my driveway. They also added a curved walkway to my back patio. After the curve was done, they ran down spouts under the new concrete. I was a little concerned about where the down spout came up, because it was close to the new sidewalk. Shawn came back and reworked the down spout, no questions asked. Great Job! Thanks a bunch.
